It has been a long trip, and the road is beckoning.

The school year is almost over.
A few more assignments and meetings, and then it is “pack and go”.
Just a year ago I would not even be able to imagine where I will be at this time.
Somehow last 2 years have been like that.
And the best part is the open road ahead.
Literally.

Follow the Stephan Challenge and his blog I should ride, and film along.

Needless to say I am psyched.
It is too much to even describe in a time crunch.
And I still need to finish my school work and pack before I can rejoin them.

In the meantime, I made a map, to help me with the trip destinations.
Well Google does not even map that many stops for driving directions.
So I have it in 2 parts

and
The Stephan Challenge route last part

I overlaid the two maps to see the route with all remaining planned stops.
The crucial word here is “planned”.
I should be joining them somewhere between Arizona/New Mexico border.

Jet, or how to make audioscope with micro dolly.

Did I ever mention how I like the school? And the best part: the Teachers.

We had a project to make audio-scope, and I requested micro-dolly so that I get to play with it. Gianna was so awesome she approved it, but she was adamant that I can not get a jib for this project. That would have been fun! I guess I need to make up some project where I need jib.

Alan, my friend, built his own plane and let me film it. Not only that, he tended to the camera while I did the “acting”, sound and micro-dolly shots. There were couple of micro-dolly shots but audioscope can be only 1 min long, so I could not use them all in the final version. But I had great time practicing!

There are at least 2 major mistakes here, but I kind of like how it turned out.

This is supposed to be an audio-scope. It has 3 versions: just sound no music( just listen to this version), sound with music(listen to the next one), and sound with music and video. Anyway I rented a micro-dolly to play with audio, why not? Micro-dolly was one of the most fun parts, right after the fact that I actually got to “play” with the real plane.

New talk show: “Views from other perspectives”

I love Toastmasters!

First and foremost: I do not think I would be where I am now, if it wasn’t for Toastmasters.
There is no better place to stutter, stumble, feel ridiculous, and learn how to conquer all those butterflies in my stomach than among supporting group of friends.
And the Toastmasters even have training manual called “Speaking for TV”.

Of course I had to pick that one as my latest project.

There are some really intimidating pieces and the experience is priceless.

Coming from this manual I came up with a new talk show: “Views from different perspectives”
Ken even created a video of our show, thus I can present you with the first installment of the show:
